Membership

Chicago Writers’ Bloc is a unique, collaborative environment where playwrights receive meaningful feedback, gain visibility for their work, and connect with a network of artists and theater professionals. Members are encouraged to present excerpts from their developing plays during our monthly meetings and additional reading nights.

• Attend a Meeting
  • We’ll invite you to one of our monthly Zoom meetings, typically held on the second Monday of each month from 7:00–9:00 PM Central Time.
• Submit Your Work
  • If you’re interested in becoming a member after attending, we’ll ask you to send:
    • A draft of a script, or portion of a script, that you would like to develop. Also, a list of your past productions, workshops, or staged readings, if any.
• Join the Bloc
  • Membership is $50/year and gives you full access to:
    • Our monthly Zoom sessions
    • Eligibility to participate in our annual short play festivals
    • Entry into our semi-annual staged reading festivals
